This was our first year doing a welcome packet. I was in charge. Since I was starting from scratch, it took many hours to complete. Luckily I got some wonderful samples from very helpful people off of here. We included a welcome letter, list of officers, calender of PTO events, volunteer sign up, shirt order form, and an informal invite to all meetings. I have many samples of welcome letters if you would like a copy. Just email me This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

For our elementary school we put a copy of our phone directory, school calendar (it also lists PTO activities), a "welcome to our school" note written by one of our fifth graders, a pencil with the school name, a magnet with the important phone numbers at our school, a welcome letter from the PTO with the exec board names and phone numbers. We are a small school, so we only made up about 10-15 packets a year. They are given to students who moved in during the year. In the past we have included book marks and stickers as well. Hope this gives you a couple ideas to get started.
