ok, let me try this again. I think I may have just posted a message with no message -- sorry -- my first time here -- EVER!

I am a PTO VP looking to try to get my organization incorporated as a 501c3 and was wondering if anyone is willing to share whatever info they have, as indicated below.

Thanx in advance for the assistance!

JHB has also been a huge help to me and others on this forum. When I wasn't sure which way to turn regarding 501c3 registration, she emailed me her PTO's entire application for reference. She always pops up when someone posts a question about non-profit. This discussion group is a great tool. Thanks, Tim, for building it.

This networking of leaders at all levels, from officers and chairmen, to volunteers and homeroom parents - we all need each other to help make progress.

That's what this forum has allowed, from my perspective - a sharing of ideas, support and encouragment. I remember what it was like to look out a that audience and feel unsure of myslef, yet confident enough not to back down when the action from the audience began.

That year we had a volitile issue (whether we would help pursue water fountains out near the playground so that the students would have access to water to quench their thirst on the hot 90+ days of Texas). Oh my, the nightmare was hot and heavy - but my meetings were well attended (hahaha - with lots of opinions I might add). Thats enough of that nightmare - oh my!

I wish all of you a great year, lots of positive support from those people that are helping you,. and a wonderful relationship with the other parents, teachers and all!

Yes, it's great to network amongst ourselves and others and to remember when we were all there at one time being nervous, stressed and overwhelmed on trying to come up with ideas and forms and to better resolve issues. AND A GREAT BIG THANKS TO CRITTER for all of her wonderful attributes she has for PTO Management. I also feel like "JHB" there's lots of times where you just don't know where to go and now we do have somewhere to turn for support and to know THAT YOUR NOT ALONE THERE'S LOTS of OTHER LOVING, CARING PARENTS OUT THERE THAT ARE LOOKING OUT FOR THE WELFARE OF OUR CHILDREN AND PROVIDING A CARING ENVIRONMENT FOR THEM AND THE STAF AND COMMUNITY (SCHOOL. We do it for our KIDS! We all must be in a continous mode of continous learning. "One that stops learning, stops the process of continous advancement in their lives and the lives of others around them" -Okay that saying is an original. And thanks for
PTOTODAY and their staff for Providing such a wonderful website.

What a lovely email to come home to on a dreary, rainy day! I think Critter will agree that we've each gotten as much help as we've given and it's been rewarding being part of the PTO Today family.

Many of you have been there for me many times when I've needed advice, or even just to let me vent. (I try to save the true venting, raging, and whining for the one-on-one emails I share with a few of you.) This Forum definitely helped me keep my sanity at times.

I agree it's a great group!
