$$$ PROBLEMS

Check your bylaws. Our policy is that the new board takes over everything the day after the last day of school. So the check book and all the decisionmaking is now out of the hands of the previous board and in the hands of the newly elected. If there were items that were voted on and approved from last year, then those need to be handled and cleared from the books. It sound like maybe this board isn't quite through with their agenda. I also agree that you should have those books audited immediately.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

The only thing I can suggest is to get those books audited and to create a new account. Try a small fundraiser to get started...ie bake sale.

Good Luck!

Hello, I am new to this this year... I am PTO President for our school and I have a huge dilema... Last year's pto wanted out, so they asked me if I was interested... I agreed to take on the responsibility, and her is my problems... Last years board decided that this year they wanted to spend all but $300. that is in the account... We are almost 4 weeks into the new school year, and the old board still has not turned over the checkbook or anything and there are things my new board would like to start doing... Does any one know any laws or regualtions on this situation... I am getting so frustrated, I want to tell them since the year has already started, and they still have alll the stuff, then maybe they should continue the job they started... Any info or ideas would be great help...
Thanks,
Wendi
