O.K. - thanks for the info that you ARE able to share, I appreciate it. Do we have a "go live" date? I know you said "about" two weeks away????? Will bring it up next week at the board meeting, we are looking at insurance cost of $300 including the management fee - so if it truly is $200 then we're a dollar ahead of the game by joining NPN. ;)

In most states (CT, OK, TX, WA are only exceptions) general liability will be only $200 for NPN-member groups. Other policies (bond, officer liability, property) will be at similarly nice prices. Can't release agency name as yet. It is a well known parent group insurance agency. Policy is top-notch. We've spent a lot of time on this.

Do you know what the insurance rate will be? My board meets next week and I'd like to present this idea to them at that time - I know if I wait 2 weeks you'll tell me EVERYTHING but in case you have not gleaned this from previous posts, I am not the most patient person on the planet, I march to the beat of a different drummer, set my own agenda, take your pick of cliches. Basically - I don't want to tease the board, I want to give them some substance and a reason to do this. Will the insurance be through Nuccio? Am I asking too much too soon? Cathie

Wow that sounds good. Will that guidebook be ready soon? We could use that and the insurance.

Still probably two weeks from when the Web site for it is launched, but I thought I'd give a sneak preview here for one of our big new endeavors -- the National PTO Network (NPN).

Groups that join the NPN will retain their independence while receiving a whole host of nice benefits. NPN groups will receive our series of comprehensive "Expert Guides" to help them "button up" their groups in a variety of key areas. The first Guide will be a step-by-step manual on those fun things like incorporating, bylaws, nonprofit status and insurance. I've read the draft, and it's going to be the best friend of group leaders who want to get things done right! And we'll have more Expert Guides throughout the school year.

Individual members of NPN member groups will also receive exclusive discounts on our PTO Shows and other upcoming PTO products and member groups will be eligible for the first-ever PTO group-discount group insurance program. In fact, the insurance discount will pay for the membership virtually by itself. Looks like the annual membership fee will be only $179 per group. Groups signing up before October will get an early-bird rate of $99.

A lot more detail to come, but I thought some of you folks might want to discuss this powerful new option at your summer board meetings, if you have them.

Love to hear reactions/feedback. We've heard from so many groups looking for this kind of help that we can't wait to get it started.
