Our bylaws also state that candidates will be posted a week before the elections and that nominations will be taken from the floor. Check your bylaws!

I would check the bylaws of your organization.
It is stated in ours and we are also governed by Robert's Rule.
We had our candidates announced at our last meeting and published the following week through the school. We also have a nominating committee and they will tally votes as well.

Our Parent Group is holding elections on Monday night. To date none of the candidates have been published. I asked the co-chairs last week to publish a list of candidates and they told me who the candidates were and basically said they didn't need to publish them. We are incorporated as a 501 c 3 organization and I feel all candidates should be published before the election, and have told them that. Basically they think I'm an unreasonable troublemaker. Comments?
