rigged elections??

Hello Scooby Doo,

I haven't had a chance to go online for a while now. I've been taking care of my mother who is terminally ill.

My primary purpose for signing on to the site was to see if you had won the post of president. I was very dismayed to learn that you lost by 8 votes.

You seem to be a compassionate and sincerely concerned parent that would have done a great job. I hope you will stay involve for the sake of your child and all the children at the school.

I was overwhelming voted in as President for our PTO, but I haven't had a chance assume my official duties due to my mother's illness.

I just wanted to drop you a line and wish you well and hope you stay encouraged. You can still make a difference.

Hi! They told Tigger 2002 that it is not a board issue. I think because this lady is not on the board she just runs the board. Although she is trying to do something about this employee calling parents to tell them who to vote for. Her and I think that is harrassment. Alot of parents were not happy with her telling them who to vote for. This is a lady who takes care of our children. Not good when she acts the same age as them!! We will let you know what they have to say!!

Tigger 2002 - I am curious as to what you found out. I just got informed that on our new PTO board has (2) school district employees on the executive board. Who in their right mind is going to go against their boss in a issue. I do see that as a bias issue here. I contacted our district and they said well, there are times you cannot get parents to volunteer. I said hello "I just told you that two people were running" I think that the position needs to go to the other person and not the district employee. Then after repeating the question to her again. "She says I definetly see a bias as a issue"

I lost by 8 votes. but only 31 of 95 voted. There are many parents upset and are starting a petition because they either could not vote or did not know that the elections were that night. There was a letter sent out a few weeks before and then one sent out that day. I had 2 parents tell me later that they did not receive any letters about the election because their kids did not give them the notes. I had one lady who's brother passed away that day, one that had to take her baby to the hospital. Our election consisted of a table, and a box. There was no privacy to vote and the past president sat her butt down at the table during the entire election. After our meeting, the elections were still going on and the president plopped her butt on the other side of the table. Now if the past president called you and told you to vote for the current president and they were both sitting at the table, where there is no privacy, who would you vote for?? There is one parent who is ready to go to the school board if he does not allow these people to vote. Now I hear rumors stating that if I don't stop protesting this election the principal is going to disband the PTO. This is not what I want. I just want everyone to have a chance to vote and to vote privately.

okay WHO WON??????? I was reading with intensity and got to the end and no post! Hope that things went well. We have our election May 6th. Our election is open forum. Meaning people nominate and then we vote right there. I am getting ready to put up a sign at the school to make the community aware of elections Monday night 6:30. Hoping for at least a few parents. Right now we only get about 4 a meeting, plus the board members, and the teachers assigned to come to the meeting that night. Hope to see an update here soon.

No fair, mykidsmom - I already tried to get her to come to the suburbs of Chicago - have a VP position open for next year - heck, if she wants it she can be pres and I'll step down the ladder a bit.

Scooby - take in all of our votes - we are on your side because we know WHY YOU DO THIS (and it's not the $$$$$$$!)

I stick with the fix-a-flat idea.

GOOD LUCK AND LET US KNOW
