What are the rules as far as officers?

Check your group's bylaws. There should be a clear definition of candidate eligibility.

Has she explained her reason for wanting to stay involved even though her child is moving on?

I guess if your bylaws are silent on the subject (they shouldn't be) then it's up to the voters to decide if they want her to hang around.

And if your bylaws aren't clear, I'd make bylaws review and revision one of the first items for your new board to look into.

I have a question.. our PTA is a little late on voting for our board next year but we are having our election next week. Our president wants to stay on the board as vice president next year but she will not have a child in the school and I've heard from many people that you can't be in the PTA if you don't have a child at the school. Is this true and if so where can I find the information at??
Thank you!
