Redo the Teachers' Lounge

If the teachers’ lounge at your school has an ancient microwave and threadbare couches, surprise teachers with an upgrade. Depending on your budget and volunteer base, this can range from buying a new coffeemaker to completely overhauling the room. Applying a fresh coat of paint can do a lot for a room; ask local hardware stores for donations of paint and supplies. If you can’t replace the furniture, disguise well-worn chairs with slipcovers.
