Free Up Teachers’ Schedules

For many teachers, the workday includes supervising students on the playground and in the cafeteria. Your parent group can give teachers a break by arranging for volunteers to fill in occasionally for lunch or recess duty. First you’ll want to get approval from the principal and make sure volunteers understand the school’s rules for those settings. Teachers will enjoy some free time, and parent volunteers will get an inside look at their child’s school day.
