Summer PTO To Do List
Use the summer break for advance planning and hit the ground running once school starts again.

Schedule a meeting with the principal as close to the start of the school year as possible to talk about about how your group can support the school.

Plan a couple of summer board meetings to share thoughts and information for fall. (It’s also a good way for new officers to get to know others better).

Take care of your teachers. Plan an easy welcome back appreciation gesture.

If you’re allowed into your school during summer, think about sprucing it up: tidying the front of the school, washing main windows, and updating your bulletin boards can give everyone a boost.
- Appoint someone as the summer communication lead for your website and social channels to keep those resources quickly updated with information about going back to school.

Review your bylaws. Be sure that you’re familiar with them and that overall they’re up to date.
