Save the Date! Free PTO Today Events
PTO Today offers two ways you can level up your parent group work, for free: in-person events and virtual education sessions.
Editor’s Note: After the long, strange couple of years we’ve had, it’s no surprise that many of us might be feeling disoriented or out of practice when it comes to leading our school parent groups. That’s why the team at PTO Today has reintroduced our Live Expo events, along with launching a new online-only offering, PTO Today University. Learn more about both of these free opportunities below. We hope to connect with you at any or all of them!
Get Reenergized at a Live Event
After 18 months of online-only events, PTO Today Live Expos are back on! Parent group leaders and volunteers at locations across the country can get reenergized at an in-person show.
The Live Expos are a chance to meet with dozens of vendors that work directly with parent groups. Plus, they always have lots of samples, freebies, and prizes for attendees! Fundraising companies, playground suppliers, enrichment performers, local attractions—there’s no better way to find out more about all your options, all in one morning.
While the vendors are the main attraction, the experience doesn’t stop there. Whether it’s at a scheduled idea-sharing or content session or simply from meeting new people, you’ll go home inspired. “If you have an Expo coming to your area, we highly recommend going!” said Rita M. of Pennsylvania, who attended one of the first in-person events in fall 2021. “Great day of sharing ideas!”

Sharpen Those Skills in an Online Course
With limited options for in-person events, in fall 2021 we were also excited to launch a new series of virtual education sessions: PTO Today University! These free online sessions are designed to help parent group leaders hone the skills they need for success—and best of all, they’re accessible to everyone, no matter where they live.
The first course addressed a topic that nearly all leaders find challenging: parent involvement. In the one-hour session, we offered expert advice and best practices, along with tangible action steps to help you get more parents engaged.
Three more courses are scheduled for spring 2022, covering topics that are often a struggle:
Effective Event Planning (+ Ideas)
Build a team, make a timeline, and get the most out of your events. Virtual or in person, big or small, we’ll share ideas your school community will love.
Running Your Group Like a Business
The nitty-gritty of getting organized, from creating bylaws to recruiting officers, so that you have all you need to run a successful parent group.
Leadership and Communication Skills
We’ll tackle your toughest leadership challenges, from delegating to public speaking, plus review how to spread the word about your group’s good work.
