"Last fall we hosted 'Line Up For Literacy,' which was a family literacy night with a football theme. We had 20ish different literacy stations with a football twist. My goal with this theme was to encourage all kids, including the boys, to be fired up about literacy. It worked! We had a great turnout. In addition to all of the literacy stations, we also had our high school football players and cheerleaders (in uniform) read aloud in the library and hand out football pencils, our high school drum line performed at our 'halftime' of the event, and our high school pom-pom squad made a run-through tunnel and did their halftime dance. Our stations hit all aspects of literacy! Good times."
