ncipals often have the magic touch when it comes to fundraising programs. When they are involved—whether by promising to pull off a wacky stunt if students meet a goal, or by reaching out to parents to encourage participation—they can make the difference between a good fundraiser and a great one.
In short, the principal’s involvement gets students and families excited and motivated. Plus, it sends a message that the fundraiser is important to the school.
So, we are very excited to announce the Celebrate the Principal Difference contest to recognize principals and administrators who have an impact on their school’s fundraising programs. The contest, which officially kicks off tomorrow, Aug. 15, is a joint effort of PTO Today and the Association of Fund-Raising Distributors and Suppliers (AFRDS).
The Celebrate the Principal Difference contest will run through the 2013-14 school year. Stories will be highlighted on the PTO Today website and AFRDS will award a $500 prize each month to a PTO or PTA that tells a great story.
Here is how the contest will work: PTO and PTA leaders share their story on the Celebrate the Principal Difference page on ptotoday.com. The story should focus on how their principal has supported a fundraising program and made a difference. AFRDS will then select one winning group each month.
So, get ready to brag about your helpful principal! We are excited to hear your stories!
Good luck!
