Moms Night Out
“It doesn’t always have to be about raising money, calling parents to volunteer, asking for donations—we can have fun, too! I started by contacting a popular in-town restaurant and pitched the idea of a Moms Night Out. It is meant to promote communications, networking, and volunteer recruiting among our three in-town school PTO and PTSGs. We are charging a cover of $5 per person, which includes appetizers and a raffle ticket. We feel this out-of-school time is to welcome new parents or reassure seasoned parents not to be shy about becoming involved within our schools. Let them know our personalities and that our current parent groups are not made up of ‘the same old people unwilling to change.’ ”
