Plus Power Pack: Connect With Parents at Back-to-School Time
Our best resources to help you welcome parents, all in one convenient spot just for Plus members.
Give them the warm and fuzzies! You’ll find that parents, many of whom are a little nervous about back-to-school time, want to feel like you want them around. As school starts, your group has a chance to reach out and help parents become part of your school community—and show them that they're welcome. We’ve gathered up some resources to help you do just that, including welcome packet forms, tips for a back-to-school get together, a parent involvement handout, and special mementos parents will love!
Make Families Feel Welcome
Think of your group as a welcome wagon! Say hello when you see parents, wear a name tag when you’re at the school (even in summer), and do up a bulletin board in the school lobby that welcomes families.
Share Helpful Info
Get our welcome packet ideas and forms so you share all the info parents need to start the school year. Provide the basics, like info about your group, volunteer opportunities, and a calendar of events; if you’re feeling ambitious, you can include general school and community info, too!
Hang Out Together
Plan a back-to-school get-together that’s casual and relaxed. Our back-to-school event ideas and tips will strike just the right tone—easygoing and fun, so no one has to work too hard to make it happen.
