what day of week do u hold Family Fun Night

We have our Family Fun Events on Fridays also. Our school has some family activites, math and literacy based, throughout the year, and those are usually on a Monday or a Wednesday. Turn out can never be assured based on the day of the week, whether for PTA/O meetings, fun events, or whatever. It just depends on the activity and what families are able to be there.

We don't do Fridays because we have trouble getting volunteers, especially teachers, because they've been working all week and don't want to stay around. We use Saturdays for events that raise a substantial amount of money. We pay our custodian a price we contract with him to work these events. Thursdays work well because most of our inservice days are on Fridays, so that makes it similar to using a Friday in that sense. Thursdays also work better for staff because they know they only have one day left after this event for their weekend to start. Monday seems to be another bad day because everyone forgets. Wednesday is when a lot of families to church activites in our area. So we usually do Tuesday or Thursday with an occasional Saturday. Honestly, when we plan the schedule, we try to make sure to have a variety of days and times to give every family a chance to come. Most of our families don't work during the day so evening isn't always good (like when I was a child and everyone worked 9-5).

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

We do mostly Thursday nights, two of our events correspond with teacher conference nights! It seems around her that 99% of sports take place on mondays, and wednesdays. we get good attendance for our events (300 kids and their families for fall fest last month). no night will please everyone, when fridays are mention everyone agrees that friday is not for being at school! The only event we do on friday is the staff/parent volleyball match withpizza afterwards

We are having our first Movie Night this year and I really had to fight to get a Friday Night. The principal doesn't normaly approve it. So I'm hoping that it goes extremely well!!!!
Otherwise all our family nights are on Thursday!!

Fridays!!!!! It's an easier day for parents. No school the next day. The majority of parents also have off & want the weekend just for their own family time.
