We purchased (PTO) a tulip bulb for each child that they planted outside the front of the building. So in the spring we had 700 red tulips infront of the school.

We also had each grade go outside and tie a red ribbon to a tree.

Hi, this is just an FYI for the balloon release, you may want to contact your local airports to notify them of the release. That amount of balloons will show up up on radar, not to mention the fact that if there is any kind of flight pattern near you it could cause problems with the planes. Sorry to rain on your release, but better safe than sorry.

Unfortunately we do not do red ribbon week. It conflicts with our Fall carnival and spirit week. We do have G.R.A.D.E. graduation and education w/ the city police dept.

Yes, Nikkie, Red Ribbon week is for being drug free, and the dates are October 23-31. Positive Promotions has a calendar of events for many of the different weeks/days.

Also, if you need ideas on how to celebrate it, you can find some great ones by doing a search using the words "red ribbon week".

HTH!

When is red ribbon week? Is this for being drug free? I have never heard of this before and I would love to do something like this for our school.
