Sample letter for fuctions

17 years 3 days ago #134837 by my3strongtikes
You can even just put school flyer into your search engine and get ideas that way. Even just putting the basics on the flyer WHO, what, when, where, why your having the event(fundraiser, dance etc.) a response slip at the bottom to tear off if needed, how much$.
When you send letter to parents get to the basic. Parents want to look at the letter know what its for, why and what they need to do and when it is.

My first year was the same way and now I can have a letter set up in 5-10 minutes. ANother note save all of them on your computer so you can go back next year and just change dates and the basic stuff. Then you don't have to keep reinventing letters and it will help the next gal/guy when you hand over the disk with all the info on it.

Good Luck

Don't panic. If you send me your email, I can forward a bunch of samples to you. Perhaps you can find something to start you off.
What is the size of your school? And what grades does it have(k-6, k-3 and 3-5 etc)
you may send your email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Just put PTO in the subject so my computer does not put you with the spam files.

If you believe, you can achieve.

No there are no records of anything. She gave me everything she has and it was only the By-laws. There is nothing I can go by. I have no idea what I am going to do. I have never in my life done anything like this. I ask her to see if she saved them to her computer and she said she did not. I am in a pickle....lol

Can you refer back to old ones that were sent in previous years. I was President for 2 years and I have the records of the previous president as well. All memos and paperwork that was completed or distributed throughout the year has been filed away. That way a new Pres. can refer back to prior memos, letters to staff, letters to parents, contracts, etc. Great means of reference for a newbie.

Doing it for my one and only ~~ my son!

So sorry i did not elaorate more. The Spring Fling is a dance a dinner for the kids and there family. The letters will go out to the kids to take home for there familys to read. The letter does have to come from me. The letter is just telling the kids and the family about the dance and dinner along with contest that we will be having that night. Hope this helps out some.

Andi,
Welcome to the 'club'. First of all, congratulations on your appointment to president. It takes a great person to step up and become involved.
The PTO today forums are a great way to help you 'find your way'. The members here are tops, and full of great advice. Anytime I have had a problem or question, there are many people to help. WELCOME!
Now on to yur problem. Without know ing what types of programs you are writing to the kids on (not sure what the Winter program entails, nor the Spring Fling encompasses) it would be a bit hard to give even a place to start. If you could elaborate just a bit on what these things are, there are plenty of people to help!
Are the letters going to parents, or just the kids? Does it have to come from you, or could you give this job to your secretary? Are you asking for money, donations or goodies or what?
If you just give a little insight, we can all try to help.
Chin up, and again, welcome to the 'club'.

If you believe, you can achieve.
