Help Wanted/Needed

IMHO- It's not so much that I care what she says but I care who she says something too....I don't what to be associated with that. It took me a long time to learn who has power and what kind of power I can allow someone to have "over me". And since she is a school employee I am bound and determined that she will not have any power over me in that area. She actually told people that I am a control freak...no, I am the President and I want to work with you not direct you.

She is also upset with the way I spoke to her daughter this summer. ugh...I needed to register my four kids and she offered her daughter to sit at our PTO/Volunteer sign-up table. Would be fine if her daughter hadn't withdrawn two weeks pior! I told her I was not comfortable with that idea and would have my oldest daughter sit and register her another day. Wasn't fine but she "played" nice. So my daughter sat down to have her daughter join her. No big deal at first, hour later my daughter is calling me askign for help in her fun way. She later told me that she was being told how she needed to go to church more, how the Lord showed her the way to making a better choice in her schooling etc. It was too much. Anyway, this conversation was no stop for almost 2 hours and my kid just had enough as well as the wrestiling coaches at the next table. To shorter a too long story, I did try to talk to mom but MY DAUGHTER offended her daughter  .

Besides the point (sorry) I may have to work on the Horton poem....it is kinda fun!

I like all the ideas submitted and may use one for my group, but have a comment. If this person is going to be caddy about posting posters about a position she resigned from, I would think that she will be caddy regardless of where you post the opening. I would think that a poster or flier at the door or around the volunteer sign in would be acceptable and get noticed by parents who are already in the school. If she is upset about you looking for someone new, then she shouldn't have resigned. I am not trying to second guess your judgement about your group and school. I think I am just tired of tiptoe-ing around people who don't want the job, but want to dictate to me how to do it.

Personally I like the creatively and quite/funny written job postings. If at all possible strive to advertise in the school newsletter in addition to the PTO minutes & or newsletter. I have found that many parents read the school news sooner & more frequently.

I like the poster idea but worry that the former gal with say as she still works at the school (teacher) and has been very caddy lately when it comes to me. (I'm always caddy so parents expect it from me but not her!) I'm thinking even the most tastfully done poster will get her talking.

I thought about taking somethig from Horton Hatches the Egg and twisting it around..
I'm tired
NOT bored
I have kinks in my neck
From typing and typing
minutes, notes, e-mails, newletters, and such
I could sure use a rest
If I could find someone to help with all this!
If I can find someone I could breathe...

yeah...too corny....

We did a thing in a newsletter that looked like a WANTED poster, and stated the position open and information about the position. You could also make some posters to post around the doors to the school that look like that too. For the picture, you could use clipart of a stickperson or a typewriter or computer or something like that. It isn't very creative, but it got the job done for us.

Or since you will be advertising in January you could put out a classified ad for an elf, who is looking for a way to fill his spare time now that Christmas is over. you could do a section of your newsletter that looks like classified ads.....like Found: great volunters at XYZ school, and then the next one say HELP WANTED......and do it like a job posting with all the EEOC stuff, and apply within XYZ school.

i think i may have saved my wanted poster and if i run across it i will let you know. Right now my save section is loaded down with my school and the pto school stuff and i can't find anything. i am not a responsible saver. :(
