I am not sure what happened but all of a sudden the Pres. called a meeting and told everyone that she was going to step aside. She wants to remain Pres. But just to observe while she takes care of some medical problems. I had a doctors appt. on the day of the meeting so was not able to attend. However, I was later informed that I have a little over a month to plan and finalize the carnival! (2/17/06) I am still in the process of rewriting our by-laws and trying to get everyone to agree on an audit. Thanks to everyone for the advice. Even from a far the support really helps..
I kind of went through the same thing- the current Pres. swore she could do a better job so I let her have it--and she has proceded to ruin everything! I laugh in her face. OK that sounds cruel but its really kind of funny- she wouldnt help unless she was pres and now no one wnats to help her. Its unfortunate for the kids but not something I can control. The Tres. and Sec have resigned and the VP does nothing. The members have requested an audit for th epast 4 months- no dice. The checkbook is in shambles and no one wants to help out. Some people should learn to keep their mouths shut and not try to act like they can do it all. (not talking about you but our pres.) I was in the same boat and did it all so I know ho wyou feel. I took my talents and helped out where it was appreciated- good luck to you
*I think* that the principal knows exactly what is going on. He has asked the pres. to keep certain things secret from the rest of the board. One of the other board members overheard a conversation and came to me with concerns. It is really sad that it has come to this. I agree with you 100%. When school resumes, I am going to talk to everyone that I can. Request an audit and an information meeting. Everyone has the right to know what is going on. Then I am going to resign and help with the Student Council, I have already been helping them a little and they are great..
I will try and keep everyone up to date on how this goes, I just wish I had a little more support (as in backbone) from the other board members. That was mean but it's how I feel..

( I really hate the thought of resigning. If some relief cannot be won by bringing everything out in the open, the I will have no choice. hopefully we can remove her from her position then take steps to repair any damage she has done. ) Thanks Mykidsmom..
