ink jet cartridges/cell phone

Here's a little bit of a different spin I hope you all can help me on.

I am still wanting a company to supplement our Kash for Kids. We did Donate-A-Phone with no luck. Now I have been asked to be on a fundraising committee for a newly formed non-traditional student organization, so the search is on-again.

The group decided to use Rolo, anyone ever heard of this one? So I checkout out Funding Factory for a supplement, but then during my search I found a co. called Wireless Foundation that just accepts cell phones. Anyone heard of this one?

We started this recently. We have been using Funding Factory because they take everything (including cell phones) but I don't think they pay as well. I recently set up an account with Kash for Kids. The sent me a small pre-paid box and I filled it up - and got $55. The only problem with them is that we get donations of a lot of laser cartridges and while they will pay postage, you have to find the box, measure it, weigh it, and then send the info to them to get the prepaid label. This has not made as much money as we had hoped this year but maybe next year, by using both companies, we will do better.

We just started, and are using Kash for Kids. Since March we've collected about $1,000--and that was from one GOLDMINE of a Mom--she works in a commercial real estate office, and they were just throwing them out! She was psyched when she saw our flyer, and has been a champ at bringing in HUGE bags full of laser toner cartridges, mostly worth $4 & $12. My son's teacher found a corporate donor, and they are piggy backing onto us, by promoting that they recycle their cartridges AND support a local school's fundraising activities in their corporate literature now.

Other than that I'm sorry to say we didn't get any response. Some of that is due to the fact that almost everyone has printers that use unrecyclable cartridges. Some is due to the fact that our principal won't let us hang reminder posters around the school, and that's the kind of thing you don't tend to remember on your own. Some is due to the fact that our office staff balked at having a box (even a small one)in the office, nor would our principal let us have a central collection box.

I'd say it depends on how supportive your parents and adminnistration are. It can't hurt to try though--like I said, all it takes is that one parent to be a goldmine....

And, as has been mentioned before, Office Max and I think now Office Depot, will give you 1 ream of recycled paper for an empty cartridge. So now that is what we are doing with the ones that kashforkids doesn't take. (The stores will only exchange 1 cartridge a day, but we luckily have someone who passess by there every day on the way home so we can do it easily.)

We uce kash for kids great company but don't take alot of different cartridges so we also use cartridges for kids for the other kinds not accepted and cell phones as well. we have made ove $1000. this year. Both Companies send their checks right on time and never a problem! A little work to split the cartridges up but that how we make the most $. Good Luck.

We use Kash for Kids. kashforkids.com

They seem to usually have the highest prices, they will match any other company's price if it is a cartridge that kashforkids takes, and they are very reliable. Usually get the check back in a couple weeks, and they respond to question by e-mail usually within the day.
