About the Original ArtWorks magnets.... I talked to them at the MA PTOToday conference, and I'm pretty sure the rep told me that you could do the program without getting the magnets to send home. Might want to ask about that.
Our art department does Original Works every 3 years to raise funds. They will do individual orders too on off years. I'm getting the quilt blocks to make a quilt at the end. It looks very nice. Plus we'll have matching pillow cases.
Square1art.com is another. They send home a magnet too, but it is free to everyone. This gives the parents a chance to see the artwork. Not sure what the percentage is back to the school though.
Our art teacher just sent this fundraiser home for the first time about a week ago. The company she used was Art to Remember, 1-800-895-8777. The magnets were $5.00. I have not talked to any parents to see if they liked it or not. I just bought the magnet and thought it was cute. I guess that it was okay with me because I only have 1 child and it was the first time I have bought one, but I can see how it would get old after a few years! Especially if you have more than 1 child.
Our school has just tried Square1art. Every child gets a FREE magnet wether or not they order anything from the artwork they created. Some people just got the magnet and never ordered anything. This isn't a big fundraiser for us--just a supplement. Most people that ordered seemed pleased with the product.
