I was not going to take the gun to school I meant sell chances for the gun like at local stores or get people of the PTO to take the tickets to work and sell.

Our school has, as I assume almost all schools do, a strict policy about weapons on campus. I'm not opposed to the idea, but I don't think it would fly. Perhaps a booth @ a craft fair or something? I'm sure the raffle would be very popular. Our area has a lot of hunters, so I know it would be popular here. I'm just don't think what would essentially be a school endorsement of fire arms would be a good thing. (I know, I know, it is PTO not the school. But if it is at school...)

PS~ our school would not allow anything alchol related.

Why would a weapon be any different? if only an adult could bid on it?

Alcohol kills more people that weapons and alcohol is banned at functions.

Alcohol cant be brought (or worn on clothes as advertisements) to school by students either...

Oh holy pete, no!

Is this something that someone is donating? If so, is there any other way to skirt around it? Perhaps having that person sell the item and then donate the $$ to your group?
