The day before classes resume (for us this was Thursday), PTO holds a breakfast for the teachers and staff. This year we served quiche, hash brown casserole, fruit salad, danish, muffins, coffee and orange juice.

We also give each teacher a check for $50 to use as they choose.

I am a new Prez and this site is invaluable. This year we are having a breakfast on the the first friday of the school year for the staff. I am also using a little bit of all of the poems that I found on this site. We also reimburse a teacher for up to $60 if they are a member of the PTA.

This year our PTO is giving the teachers and staff a "Back to school survival kit". It is a small handle bag with snacks and small gifts for the first week back. Water, crackers, candy, aspirin, apple, summer vacation photo frame, etc.
We also have a welcome back breakfast with juice, coffee punch, fruit trays and danish trays.Our teachers say they LOVE anything to do with food!

This year, our PTO is giving each classroom teacher a check for 25.00 to be used in the classroom for the kids somehow, along with a certificate welcoming them back for the year and stating how we look forward to working with them.
