Uniform basket (our school's uniform supplier donated a uniform)
Lottery Fever (a small basket full of scratch-off tix)
Hair Care (donated salon items, blow dryer, curling iron, hair goodies)
Fine Teas

We were able to get local business to donate money (to be used for prizes) and gift certificates. We contacted NY/NJ major sports teams and got autographed items (BIG name people with major value), tickets and memorabilila. I've been in touch with national corporations and have luckily realized some truly amazing and generous contributions of products. iPods, digital cameras and big collections of high-end products. These will be for a mini auction taking place at the event.

In addition, shopping at places like The Christmas Tree Shops, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Home Goods and Walmart, I was able to buy some pretty nice non-basket prize items such as DVD players, foot spa bath, sewing machine, bar sets, smoothie makers, high quality first aid kits, George Forman Grill, Wok Set, computer all-in-one printer/scanner/copier and much more. Now to add a few higher end items such as a good piece of Lenox crystal, jewelry and more and we'll ALMOST be set. I have a few tricks up my sleeves and am hoping to wrangle a cruise for our tropical themed evening. I was given the suggestion to go to the mall, go to the individual stores and ask where their Clearance items are and see what you can find there. Also, before making your purchase, find the manager and see if they will either give you a discount or throw in a free item because this is for a school fundraiser. You should also see if the school has a tax ID number and that, along with a purchase order, check with the school's name on it, or a letter stating you are authorized to purchase using the tax ID for a fundraiser, may get you the items you want minus tax.

We are hanging our hopes on a Super 50/50 raffle. 500 tickets are being offered at $100 per ticket. No more than that. If all tickets are sold (and I know they will be) the first place winner gets $20,000!!! Second place gets $3,500 and third place gets $1,500. The school makes $25,000 on this raffle.

PTO Today has an Auction Tool kit that is available in their on-line store for $49. You do not need to have the event date set, as the kit is meant to help you organize the event.

We are looking at doing a silent auction. I have seen where if you join ptotoday they have a sight specific for that information. But I have also been told that even if you join, you can not get the information unless give specific dates. Is that true? We are not an organized group of parents and thus the $99 would be coming out of my pocket. Do you have to pick a date first? And then you can view the information? Please let me know. Thanks

Thanks for the help! We had our meeting last week and I think the Principals are NOT happy about the baskets. SO... things might change. But I hope not and I am still pushing them.
