HardinCubs do you know where I can get templates to make some of the games you mentioned? Especially the spinner wheel. We are a brand new school and are planning our first Fun Fair. We would like to make some of these games that could be used for years to come.

The one I heard lately is Candy in a haystack. You have loose hay and bring children in a few at a time and there would be all candy mixed in the hay. It is great for the little ones. They don't have to leave till they find there candy.
Good luck

Brooke, We hold a yearly carnival for grades
K-9. Here are some of our games: Cake Walk, Softball Throw, Frisbee Throw, Archery, Pie-in-the-face, Toilet Tissue Toss, Duck Pond, Fishing, Spinner Wheel, Basketball, Putt-Putt, Dunking Booth, Darts, Bean Bag Toss, Petting Zoo, and Face Painting. We also hold a Costume Contest and a Pumpkin Decorating Contest. $1.00 entry fee for these. The adults have Bingo, the Jr. High students do some of the games, but we hold an art contest for them during the week. We have local businness and churchs setting up booths also. We charge a $10 booth rental fee and they can set up what they want as long as it is not something the PTO is setting up. Mascots from surrounding areas come out, local police, fireman and ambulance service come. Hospitals around us come and set up booths to give out safety information on children and they also do finger casts on the kids. The police do the fingerprints for the kids. It is a lot, and it is growing every year. Oh yeah, we have a parade the morning of the carnival to start it off. We also have a pageant for girls and boys, chuch dress only, no pageant dress. It is a big hit.

Now that I have talked a lot, that is all I have for now. Need anything else, let me know.

Aaaah! so sorry, just getting the hand of this site. Just some questions about your carnival. Are you trying to appeal to adults, elementary kids, high school, jr high, or preschool? My favorite booth was alway the one where you tried to get a ping pong ball into a champange glass of water. If you were successful you recieved a gold fish in a bag. You can get guppys cheaply, a supply of champange glasses from a party story and ping pong balls at a discount store. I like it because the prize is set, and all ages like it and the prize. (Except the moms who have to clean the fish bowl)
Or what about ring toss on pop bottles, or juice bottles, if you settle your ring you win the bottle.
A popular one for Halloween is a "Fortune Tellers" booth, dress up in clothes and jewellery and brush up on palm reading, or whatever means you wish to use. Everyone knows its for fun, especially if you make it really silly.
