Using tickets for food at Carnival...

We do tickets that my husband designed so that people couldn't go down to the local store and buy the generic tickets and use them. We always run out, but my job is to run around and collect the used ones so that we can reuse them. We noticed that we make more money if we use the tickets at the food court because a lot of parents come with only a certain amount of money. We presell which works great because we can get everyone regardless of when their payday is. We give tickets for volunteering and donating.

Holly- I would love to see your punch ticket. I tried to do one in the past, but my computer graphics knowledge is very limited and my husband was too busy to design one. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Carrie,

It was probably on here. A few years ago I read where a principal was duct taped to the wall. From the head down of course. I thought that was funny. I think they had met some kind of AR or Boxtop goal. You could sell a certian size duct tape for a quarter. To tell you the truth, I'd rather be dunked. But I thought it was nice of that principal.

In the lines of pie throwing and dunking there is also a wet sponge throw. You can make a plywood with a body painted on it and the head cut out and put up some mesh so the person doesn't get hurt.

I just thought of this tonight. When we were in High School we had an suction that people were servants for a day. Teachers and students were allowed to participate. Teachers gained the most bids by far. LOL! They had to hang around with the buyer. It was deemed politically incorrect.I think it was the name it had. You could have a Maid or Butler for the day. You could also sell tickets to eat with the principal, watch a movie, read a book, etc.

Do you set a goal for your campaign? Perhaps if you reach a certian goal your prinicpal could cross dress or dance a silly dance. Kids love that. We had a teacher to declare he would shave his mustache that he had for years if we won district. We did, so the principal or coach shaved it for him in front of the whole school. It was awesome.

Didn't mean to hijack the post I just wanted to share my ideas.

Forgot to add that we also do advanced sales during the parent/teacher conferences before the carnival and sell tickets for 5 for $1.00 (4 for $1.00 at carnival) and meal tickets are $3.50 each. We were very successful this last year.

We use tickets at our carnival and it works out very well. We use tickets for our games (1 ticket for most, 2 for basketball shoot, cake walk and pop toss and 4 tickets for our photo booth, which went over very well for our 1st year of doing this) but make our own meal tickets on the computer and add clipart to go with our theme for the year. We only have one item for the meal (sloppy joe, chips, little debbie snack and a pop) so it makes our meal much easier to organize and our school board serves the meal for us. We had 17 booths this year including a raffle booth (which has items donated by local businesses and is our most popular booth) and face painting that one of our student teachers volunteered to do for us.(I bought her lunch that next monday to show my appreciation) And our secretary para and librarian volunteer every year to man the money table. We try to get all of our teachers involved somewhere in the carnival as well as our wonderful parents who spend the week before helping to decorate their booths for the kids to enjoy. I must tell you, I hate using tickets. I suggested this past spring for our carnival to only use tickets for the raffle. We used a punch card for the games. They were laminated and were in denominations of $5 or $10. The $5 card had 20 punches and the $10 card had 44 40 + 4 bonus. We presold them for 1 month prior to the carnival and offered an incentive of a "special" raffle for Sesame Street Live Tickets that we had donated. We presold almost a 100 cards. It went really well. We did cash at the food trailer. I'll be happy to email you a sample of our "Gordy Card" punch card if you'd like to see it.
