Raffles Question

If you could get $5,000 for a $300 prize I've been raffling off the wrong stuff! :D

Sure--more prizes are better--it's called a "Tricky Tray" (Chinese Auction). With Bertha's help we cleared just about $12,000!

As Bertha and melloweer said--all you need is that gaming license/registration with the local authorities to let everyone know you're on the up and up and you're ready to go!

Same here....you can raffle as many as you please regardless of retail value of what is being raffled.

We only need to file a specific form with the state charity gaming commissions

We sell as many tickets as possible. The more you sell the more you make. Besides, you can never make too much.

Here in NJ, as long as you have a gambling license you can raffle off your momma if you want to! You just need to get a town permit and have your gambling license on hand in case anyone wants to see it.

My wife says you are correct. I guess it relates
to the demand.

The lotteries offer the same prize but dont stop
selling tickets.

I still would like other opinions and does your
PTO do raffles?

Thanks Kmamom

If the value is $300.00 is it fair to sell
$5000.00 worth of tickets.

Is it not better to do another raffle with
another prize?

Does the state lottery laws regulate this?

Thanks again

As many tickets as you can sell! That's the point--if someone wants a better chance at winning a prize, they have to buy more tickets!
