We are also doing a continental breakfast. We will have our Santa's secret shop open and have pictures with Santa, a craft corner , a fire safty program, and 2 of our high school girl scout troops will be doing gift wrapping for the children . The girls will use this time to earn some volunteer hours for badges. we will also be holding a contest for Toys for tots, any child that brings in a new unwrapped toy will have their name put in a drawing for a big boy/girl stocking. This is our 1st year doing this and I am very excited, I think with all that we are doing we will have a good turn out. We are only charging for the pictures, the rest is at no charge. Plus we have Santa coming in by fire truck!

We provide a continental breakfast. It's easier and you don't have to rely on so many volunteers.

We color our pancakes red and green and have juice. we also have our holiday shop open that day and we invite the local pre-k's because they are not in our school system in our county.

i like the idea of selling reindeer food. what do you use??

We can't even do anything that promotes "Christmas". we can't even bake cookies with Santa, candy cane, christmas trees, etc.. we can only do snowflakes and snowman.

for "Halloween" we use pumpkins and leaves and it's a "fall harvest festival". we can't have anything scary or implying Halloween.

a few years ago we did pancakes with santa and then for the last couple years we have done french toast sticks, sausage, hashbrown oj, milk or coffee--this year the principal is gung-- ho on doing the pancakes again--he is going to be Mr pancake flipper LOL--anyways we are doing sausage again--we have a man who donates them to us every year for this event( we just cook them in the school or you could even use a crock pot to keep them hot in) and we will have hash browns, oj milk and coffee. We order the milk and hashbrowns and juice thru the school--and the cook is really good at making sure we have enough and whatever we don't sell of the milk and juice the school then buys back from us-- We sit out a big bucket at the end of the food line and we do breakfast for donation only. We also do pictures with Santa(poloraids for $3 each), we have a couple bring in a horse and sleigh ride and offer rides for $1 each,in the past we have held a silent auction with the breakfast, we have the 1st and 3rd grades come in and sing Christmas songs, we also hold a mini carnival(games and prizes in the gym) and we offer a craft project. In the past we have sold tickets for the games at 5 for $1 but this year we are doing a punch system--you will get a card for $2 and it will be good for 10 games of your choice--each game will give away a little trinket. Oh and we are pretty excited this year--I don't know if anyone remembers the Santa from the coca cola commercials last year--but he will be arriving in a white limo to be our santa this year--our sausage guy knows him and got him to come. YIPEEE!!

do you have rsvp's ? how much do you charge? You could offer fruit salad, it's very pricey.. but if you asked each grade to bring in a particular fruit , ( so all 3rd'd bring ornages, or all 4th's bring canteloupe or whatver) then the day before people could get together and make the " friendship salad" and you could then say something at your event about your special salad and about giving, friendship, commmunity spirit and so on.......
