when I was in high school we did carnations that we bought I can't remember for how much it was then. LOL But then it had a note attached to it. I think would be great for a middle/high school. They also were different colors pink, white, red so that friends could send them to each other and stuff.

At out school we are lucky enough to own a badgeaminit button machine so we pass out flyers with 3 pre designed buttons and 3 blank buttons and let the kids color and design their own to have delivered to them or their friends. they can send them anonymously as well. It is our first year doing the valentine button grams but so far the response is over wheming!!! The kids did this at christmas and we made over $300.00. we are hoping for the same response all monies made off of the buttonS go the end of the year mega event!!!

Important information on how Cedar Creek Fundraising Dear Hearts came packaged this year.... One case comes as a box. This box contains two smaller boxes. Each box contains two plastic bags of about 60 -61 heart shaped pops. The To/From cards come loose on the bottom of each smaller box.

We ordered two cases. When we opened the larger box and saw two smaller boxes, we thougth we had received both cases. We were wrong and short quite a few lollipops. We've contacted Cedar Creek and should have the second case in time for Valentines day.

This was for a for a 6-8th grade middle school of 900. Generally this is a poorer school, so we only charged $0.50. We'll probably sell out on our last day of sales. The first day of sales was slow, but progressively it's been building. These were sold at lunches which run in a 1 1/2 period by one or two parent volunteers. The students address the cards themselves and are told to write the homeroom teacher, through whom the candygram needs to be delivered, on the back of the To/From card. We'll have to figure our how to deliver about 75 where this was not done completely or corrrectly.

Due to snow days, and one day a parent volunteer having a sick child, we will have had only 5 days of sales while we had planned to do 8 days.

Overall this is a big success, but has been quite a lot of work. We won't end up making that much money, but our goal was to have the students have fun doing this, not make money.

If school has fun things going on in it, then that makes school fun!

I know it's early, but if someone could send me or steer me to the direction of about 6 cute poems for middle school kids to use, that would be great. I would like to get this figured out before I start in on festival prep which is also in Feb.

THANK YOU

Where is a good site to find cute poems for middle school kids?
I plan on ordering several boxes of heart shaped suckers to add to it. I hadn't considered doing some without. I was going to charge $1 for the ones with the sucker because I have to add in paper and ink for the message. Is this too much?

We did ours using the "Dear Hearts" lollipops from Cedar Creek Fundraising www.cedarcreekfundraising.com/lollipopstore.htm The Dear Hearts lollipops are heart shaped gourmet lollipops and they come with a to/from card attached to them. They sell them in a case of 240 for $60 and shipping was free. We sold them for $1 each. We had parents and students pre order them and then the ladies in charge of them addressed the cards and delivered them to the classrooms on valentines day. We made about $600 in our school of 300 kids. We ordered 4 cases of them and just noted on the paperwork that we had a sufficient amount, but that when we ran out we ran out thus encouraging them to get their orders in right away.

The one other thing we did was have the teachers note who in the class was not recieving any lollipops. We then used what we did not sell to make sure each kid got one. We just wrote on it that it was from a "Secret Friend". We were short about 8 lollipops as we sold most of them. The principal who received about 25 of them from students gave us 8 of his to make up for the 8 we were short to make sure every kid got one.
