There's a company called Picateers.com that takes the kids' artwork, scans it, and makes beautiful books for the parents. It's a free service for the schools and if the parents buy anything, the school makes 25% of the revenue.

I printed off that list of art/craft ideas and found some good ideas. I am attempting to make picture collages with some of the classes at our school. I am not very crafty and do not scrapbook much, so does anyone have any good collage ideas or fun ways of taking pictures of the kids? I am open to any ideas! Thanks!

we are currently working on a student coloring book. This year's theme was character traits, last year it was a school theme. We do a 20 page book that holds 40 different students artwork. Our judge this year was the school's counselor since character traits is something he promotes each month. One student was picked from each classroom to represent their class. We even included our PreK. Then we hosted a reflections night where we displayed lots of art work from lots of different students. The one that were chosen to be in the coloring book had a featured in coloring book award hung with their picture. We even did some honorable mentions since we had so many good pictures to chose from. We sent invites to the parents of the students to be on display and had the 4th graders do some readings of poems and stories they worked on in class. We had a nice turn out and the students REALLY loved seeing thier work on display ( we mounted them on colorfull paper ). Parents were taking pictures of the child stand next to their artwork. It was wonderful! We will print the coloring pages up and assembly the book this coming week and sell them for $3 a book. We had a good turn out last year for it being the first time ever done, so we are hoping that we will have a better turn out this year since we hipped it up more with the reflections night.

We do Square Art, where the kids make their creations, we send them off and then the parents can purchase it in the form of t-shirts, coffee mugs, mouse pads, etc... Last year the company gave free 2 inch magnets with the student's art design, as their initial enticement for the parents.
