The truth in Florida is that the law was flawed!
The non-public schools did not have to meet the same testing and curriculem oversite as the public schools.
If there were a level playing field in which ALL schools were required to meet the same performance as the publics, there would not be the equity problem.
PTA believe that a raising tide raises ALL boats, and not just for the select few who are able to voucher out to alternatives.
The sad fact is that students with IEPs or other special concerns are not likely to be accepted at a private school, with or with out vouchers. Which makes it very unfair for a special needs student.

No but if your a PTO and the Principal wants to control it, the parents would be alone in trying to stop him. So it's easier for a Principal to control a PTO than a PTA just based on backup.
what about the outrage in that the principal is doing this so that he can control the money! We all know what happens when that becomes the case. This does lend a lot to one of the arguments I've heard is that administrators want PTO's so that they can control the money....
having provided a response myself to newspaper reporters, I know that you can say 12 different things and then they cut it down to whatever part of the quote they want. Chances are she said more but for many reasons, it didn't get in. Remember we are dealing with the press.
