Last time we did this type of majore reorg and redesign, the site was probably 40% as big and 80% less complicated on the backen/database side of things. Fun.
WOW! I've only been gone a week and look at all the changes that are taking place! That's just what I get for going to a place that has no internet access.

New look-and-feel should be up tomorrow night (late Wednesday/early Thursday).
Expect a major look-and-feel change right away, and then a whole host of new features and tools and content over the next 6-10 weeks. It's going to be kind of an ongoing process.
To two of your specific queries:
1. The forum. Will be renamed "message boards" as of tomorrow. The color scheme, etc. will change right away, but there won't be any major functionality changes in this first build. Look for a version update later this summer, which should add some nice bells & whistles. We're toying with a major upgrade (perhaps chat and the like), but -- man! -- some of that software if you really wnat it to work well is extremely expensive. Working on it.
2. Download site/resources. As of tomorrow, you'll see a new page caled "Bonus Tools". This will be the precursor to, I think, what many have been looking for for a long time. There will be ten or so tools to start, but look for that to expand rapidly over next weeks and months. Actively exploring a solution that will allow us to house the "email me that, too" kind of forms, etc.
