Question for EVERYONE about Office Staff

A big question??? How does a lunch aid get into school files without being seen? That in itself is a great cause for alarm in my opinion!!

We have a lunch aid at our school who did go through the files and found out some information that no one was supposed to know. When she got mad at this childs mother she let the information out. It was so devastating to the child that they took the child out of our school and nothing was done to our wonderful lunch aid because they said they can't prove where she got her information from. She did admit to a few of us that she went into the files.

This kma, is what you have to look forward to if she gets the job at your school! If she gets close to getting the job, I'll go talk to your principal myself and I'll call the mother about maybe going in and telling her story so that it doesn't happen again.

Bertha--You're official! :D I couldn't be happier--you are by far one of my favorite people!

I know gossip is gossip, and while that bothers me, I worry more about certain people getting in a position where they could do more than "gossip"--like have information that could be talked about "by accident," or in that all-to- frustrating-way-that's-untraceable, that could make lives miserable for people, or somehow used against them.

I'd LOVE to see confidentiality rules REALLY enforced, but that doesn't seem to be coming anytime soon, so I guess I can only hope for the best!

Welcome Bertha!

Yeah, it's more than gossip. It's the employee's kids that get way with simple issues as dress code and food outside the cafetria. It's teachers affraid to report issues because they have seen what happens when a teacher did "write up" a student. I should mention I'm not nessasarly in the elementry hallway but the middle and high school wing of our school.
I will admit with two new asst. principals, construction, 3 office staff leaving over a weekend, and parents just not taking the time to ask but assume that answers (the most outragous was the Principal/school founder's husband was on the School Board and really running the school-far from the truth, he was handling the construction issues and reports to the board) this year has left a bad taste in my mouth. I have learned when to way away (or just plain run) from conversations that become more than I want to know.

Now we have the best receptionist in five years and her boss (admin Asst.) wants to fire her. I can only pray 2004-05 is easier to deal with than this was.

Our schools are our county's biggest industury. It hurts us when out of towners are hired. There are several non-countians at the high school which has many people irrate because it takes jobs away from the residents. I'd rather have neighbors around my kids than strangers. But I agree with confidentiality, totally!

Bertha, I for one am glad you registered. :D

KMA- look at our board of ed office. Everyone and I mean everyone in that building has a child or grandchild in our schools. Those women over there don't gossip or spread stories. What happens there stays there.

For your school, some of the women going for the job should forget about it. They are some of the biggest town gossips. The one lunch aid from our school is also going for that job and GOD HELP US ALL if she gets it. She is getting highly recommended by our principal which is a big mistake.

I know of a few women who can keep there mouths shut who are also going for it. But all in all, an out of towner would be best!

PS. Look KMA, I'm finally registered!!! Are you proud of me?
