The PTO actually has a program(one hour long)where they give rewards to the students who sold fund-raiser.The kids that didn't sell stayed in the classroom.Sorry I should have gave more info.

Same thing with my PTA- all of the kids know me (school enrollment 900+) and the teachers see how much our PTA does not only for the kids but for them. I am at the school every day for at least 1-3 hours getting stuff done and taken care of. So they too understand that we are doing a job and a job that pays no greenbucks. So they are very understanding when we do come to the classroom.

I have delivered student prizes both ways. Either to the classroom, or put them in the teachers' mailboxes. Depends on what is easiest for me. We have a large school of about 700 students with usually 75% participation. Prizes are distributed as the students turn in their money. So, I drop off to classrooms on the way to the mailboxes. I do not worry about if I am interrupting classrooms as I stress the Lifeskill of "flexibility". 99% of the teachers acknowledge me & the work that our PTO does. It's great!!

When we have to do this- we label anything that is being dropped off with a note attached saying "please send home with Students name class#/teachers name and school (in case it gets lost on the bus). We knock lightly on the doors enter and drop it off without stopping to talk- we just put the stuff on the teachers desk and leave. Or if possible we put the stuff in the teachers mailbox and htey can pick it up when they have a break and give it to the student.

Are we talking about going into the classrooms and interrupting the instruction for a few minutes. As long as you check with the teacher first, it should be okay. Some teachers may ask that you do it at a particular time, and should be accomodated. Others welcome the occassional break from the routine just to help liven up the day. But I would still say check with the teachers and go for it.

we just gave out our Reflections art program awards today. We did it in the auditorium right before the 4th and 5th grade chorus presentation. That way, we weren't disrupting any classes and the participants were recognised by the entire school. (and it was quick :&gt ) I know in the past, the kids have gotten their prizes during class time, we fortunantly could sneak it in which was nice. :&gt
