Did you ever get notes?

I am very crafty so I like to make my own. It's really quite easy just a printed sheet of paper cut to 2"x 4" with a sticker in the front. I write little notes like you're a star, I love you more or silly, cheesy jokes. It's fun and my oldest son saves them and puts them in his desk. I am hoping this is the mushy stuff he will remeber when he is all grown up.

I remember Itty Bitty greetings! I used to put them in Shorty's lunch box and backpack too. I'd also write notes on his napkin or tuck a hand written note in there.

Ricedad - Excellent idea to connect with your kids during the school day. It can be anything from a special lunch that you pack for them that they know is FROM DAD, a little note or even a hand drawn picture. They'll smile whenever they see them!

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."

A few years ago I found these boxes of little notecards at a Hallmark store and one was themed for parents to children. Each little card had a special message from a simple "I love you" to notes of encouragement and even apology('cause sometimes we screw up). I started sneaking them into my kids' back packs at random times(or suitable occasions) and they loved it!! Even my "way too cool" son liked them and some of his friends even commented to ME about them. Those little random things can really boost your child's day and they can be used by Moms and Dads!!

That reminds me, I need to pick up some more of those-hope they still exists. I'll let you know!

I've always tucked notes into my children's backpacks and lunch boxes. Just lets them know I'm thinking of them. When they couldn't read it was usually a picture or a sticker and as they got older the notes got more detailed. Great way to keep them aware of your love.
