I ended up call ing 800 # for school house news.
It is paid for by local business who pay for an add on the back of the newsletter. They hire someone local to go to business to by an add.
You email them the context of your newsletter and add any filler in that is preselected to your needs.
What was big for us was translation. they do this as well only if it is the same info.
hope this helps.

Raesmom, I don't know if this will help, but here is the thread.

Check this out...our group set up a yahoo account for emailing each other reminders etc but our Principal stopped it saying we didn't have permission to use the school's name! Funny thing she still sends reminders just from her own address but this is driving her crazy! Has anyone run into that issue?

We use Yahoo Groups here for our area "news" and our company spouse group. It's been great! I'm hoping to adapt it for use with our PTO, I just haven't had time.

Thanks for the heads' up on the website thing. I am sending out survey to parents specifically letting them know that I do need a web designer in addition to accountant, photographer etc. HOPEFULLY someone will take pity on us!

Although we're getting off topic here, a good freebie website is www.orgsites.com

You do everything on-line - no special software needed and no pesky pop-ups (example: click the monkey and win $100 stuff).
