Our old school did an Oscar theme- red carpet, stars with names on flloor, festive decorations, film reels

and a garden picnic theme, flowwer centerpieces with fake butterflies, a white picket fence, small indoor garden, picnic tablecloths (ie plain or checkered cloths, picnic baskets for centerpeices on some tables

I've seen a hawaiian theme done and a 50's theme (think American Graffitti malt shoppe)

oo la la .. C'est une idee magnifique! :) If you can do it, get small round bistro-style tables and parlor chairs, have baskets of baguettes on every table, and have menus with " french cuisine". You could also have little " stand up flags everywhere ( can get them lots of places on line).. and could also do some tour de france stuff.... I would have grapes and assorted cheeses along with those baguettes.. and perhaps even hard meats like salami, which is a common lunch item over there.. do " buffet" snack style lunch??

This may be a stretch.. but it would be fun to get parents who still remember college french- or even local college language majors to come and speak TOTALLY in french to the guests, just as if they were actually in little french bistro..

don't forget GOOD strong european coffee.....

this sounds fun.. I want to join you!

You could serve French pastries and have a punch fountain or serve sparkling cider in plastic wine goblets or champagne glasses. You could string up white lights in the room. Ask everyone to dress French and everyone could wear berets. That sounds so fun. I want to have a luau this year for our celebration, but this one sounds great, too! Have fun!

Could you find little Eifel Towers to set on the table. Picture frames or something holding the words Thank You in french. Maybe little parasauls (sp) hanging.

Cute Idea.

I was just trying to brainstorm ideas for ours.
